Conclusion
About 2 months before Anime LA, Pacific Media Expo was held at a hotel very closeby.  It's a very similar hotel.  Most
activities are indoors.  There are some outdoor areas for people to congregate.  The big difference is that Pacific Media
Expo is a smaller convention.  The indoor areas can get crowded, but the outdoor areas are quite comfortable.  Anime LA
had basically two outdoor areas for people to congregate and people mainly met in only one of these areas.  Thus, there
was basically only one main outdoor meeting place that was very busy for most of the convention.  As much as I like to
take photos of cosplayers at conventions, this isn't a good environment for me.  I like to be outdoors and have a lot of
room, and this location simply doesn't have that.  I would have liked to have been more productive in that department, but
with this venue, it's going to be difficult.  You know it's bad when you have to go about a block away from the hotel and
shoot in an alley.  However, with one year under my belt at this location, I learned a lot and can hopefully use those
lessons next year.  It's never going to be one of my favorite convention locations.  In the end, having only about 40 cosplay
photos isn't bad.  It could be worse.  Most of them are of people who I know and have been involved other cosplay
projects that I've done and I socialize with them outside of conventions so it was just easier for me to work with them.  i
don't know you things will be next year.  I want it to be different, but I can't guarantee that.

Typically, I've also enjoyed the music program at this convention.  This year I was only able to attend the Sunday's music
program.  The music room this year was much better suited for it's purpose.  I could actually hear the vocals this year
without the instruments drowning them out.  Usually I would go to listen to more of the music program, but this year,
there were a lot of bands that I've already seen before and most of them, I've seen more than once.

I was also able to attend a few panels, one by an anime distribution company and two photography panels.  I found them
to be very informative and entertaining.  Most conventions don't have photography panels, but I was pleased to see them
included at this convention and that they were run by down-to-earth panelists.   I skipped the masquerade again.  Sorry, I
just can't sit through them anymore.  I'd rather be doing other things.

As usual, the social aspect of the convention was the most fun part of the convention.  I met some good people and also
spent a lot of time with a lot of close friends that I have made from the convention scene.  A lot of us really don't need a
convention to get together, but it's still nice to be a part of one.  Once again, I had a very enjoyable time at Anime Los
Angeles.

See you next year!!
