People watching is very popular activity and anime conventions because there is so much incredible cosplay to be seen. After attending so many events in Southern California during the year, it's always nice to make the trip to Northern California and photograph and meet new people. For this convention, I used a whole new approach to my cosplay photography. I would be photographing for this website as well as my new Cosplay Underground project for the first time. I have entirely separate visions for what I want for each. During this convention, I did my share of expanded photoshoots, sometimes lasting over 1 hour, which is something that I rarely do at a convention. There was also the traditional hall cosplay shooting style that I normally use for this website. It felt very awkward at first and it will definitely take some getting used to, but it's how I want to cover cosplay events in the future. Fortunately, this location has a lot of possibilities and a lot of room to be creative.
Thank you to all the cosplayers who allowed me to photograph them at Fanime. I hope you enjoy the results of both of my cosplay photo projects.
