Conclusion
The Nisei Week Anime Festival continues to grow.  There were some new challenges with this new
venue.  It's more detached from the center of Little Tokyo, so it was difficult for some to find.  The sound
system proved to be more than adequate and during some of the musical performances, it was
deafening inside the cavernous shopping center.  The event itself is still trying to find the right mix of
vendors and events to attract the most visitors.  For me, the challenge was being indoors.  I'm not too
fond of indoor and flash photography when it comes to cosplay photography.

It was also nice to see some of the local anime conventions getting involved to organize video game
contests, a video screening room, and the cosplay contest.  An expanded music program was also a
plus, especially with the selection of local favorites.  Cosplayer involvement was a mixed bag.  There
were fewer participants in the stage show mainly because of the change from an exhibition last year to
an actual contest this year.  However, roughly the same amount of cosplayers took part in the Grand
Parade.

Even though an anime event has been part of Nisei Week for several years, a lot of local fans are still
not aware of it.  Hopefully, word will spread for next year and we will have another enjoyable Nisei Week
Anime Festival.  It's a small and charming event that has room to expand.  I hope that more anime fans
put this event on their schedule next year.  It will be on mine.
